Phew, that was close. Last time I came so close to winning with just one more letter, but I barely managed to win with the last one. The biggest drawback is that I found some useless letters today.

Today's words describe a surface covered with some kind of texture, specifically fine sand or powder. For example, potato might be described this way. Find two vowels today.

No, there are no double letters in today's puzzle.

A good start can make the difference between winning or losing a daily puzzle. There is nothing like a small victory to make the rest of your day more fulfilling:

There is no race against time in Wordle, so there is no need to rush through the answers. Treating the game like a casual newspaper crossword is also a good way to go. Going away for a while may be the difference between winning and losing.

Here are some recent Wordle answers:

Wordle offers five boxes in six columns each day, so to keep the winning streak going, you need to find the secret five-letter word hidden in them.

You should start with a strong word like ARISE (open in a new tab) or any other word with a good mix of common consonants and multiple vowels. You also do not want to start a word with repeated letters. Pressing the Enter key will tell you which one is right or wrong, because you will waste the chance to delete or check the extra letters. If the box goes to ⬛️, it means that the character is not in the secret word.

The second guess should complete the starting word, using another "good" word to cover the common letters missed in the previous guess, while avoiding the letters that we now know for sure are not present in today's answer. With luck, a few colored squares will be created and you will be on the right track.

Then it is just a matter of using what you have learned to narrow down the correct words. You can try six times in all, and you can only use actual words (you cannot fill in the box with EEEEE to see if there is an E). Letters may be repeated (e.g. BOOKS).

Originally, Wordle was invented by software engineer Josh Wardle (opens in new tab) as a surprise for his partner, who liked word games. From there it spread to his family and was finally released to the public. This word puzzle game then became a tremendous inspiration for games like Wordle (opens in new tab), which focused the daily gimmicks on music, math, and geography It wasn't long before Wordle became so popular that it was sold to the New York Times for a seven-figure price! (opens in new tab). Surely it is only a matter of time before all of us will be communicating only within the Tricolor box.
