Now Wooting, makers of our favorite gaming keyboard (opens in new tab), has dropped a surprise compact keyboard that is surprisingly adorable for a keyboard with only three keys.

Three keys. Yes, this keyboard, affectionately called the Wooting UwU (open in new tab), was designed with one game in mind: a free-to-play rhythm game called osu! (open in new tab)

If you've never played this game before, it only takes a few clicks on the keyboard to make quick melodious moves with your mouse or tablet (open in new tab). The game has become super popular on social media apps, namely TikTok, where Wooting jumps on trains with a specially designed keyboard.

I admit that when I first saw UwU, I thought it was a bit early for an April Fool's joke: it supports all the great features of Wooting Two HE (open in new tab) and Wooting 60HE (open in new tab), with fully analog and highly customizable switch that is fully analog and highly customizable.

This may mean that it can be used for other shortcuts as well as frantic tapping with osu! Streamers may find some use for this kind of thing. Nevertheless, there are a million and one streaming consoles out there today that were built for such a purpose. But sometimes less is more.

Wooting will begin taking pre-orders for the board on April 6. If ordered, the board is expected to arrive in August of this year, not a bad turnaround for a Wooting board.
