Intel Arc A750 GPU is the cheapest

Graphics cards are one of the most price sensitive points when building a new PC. It is easy to be swayed by the idea that high-end models are very expensive and anything less is an insult to the needs of gaming. While this is big business for card manufacturers, this is never true.

Even low-end GPUs (open in new tab) like Intel's Arc A750 (open in new tab), which was just released last year, can provide a great 1080p and in some cases 1440p gaming experience at a much more reasonable price. At NewEgg is offering these Arc GPUs at sale prices.

While it's always important to make sure your PC parts are compatible before introducing deals, it's worth doing one more due diligence when it comes to Arc GPUs. While they will still work without this feature, to get the best performance from these cards, you need to make sure that your CPU and motherboard support Resize BAR. Most newer cards do, but it is worth checking first, as it has been found that performance can be reduced by as much as 22% without Resize BAR on these cards.

NewEgg's ASRock store offers the Challenger Arc A750 8GB GPU (opens in new tab) for $230. This A750 is the little brother of the recently reduced ASRock Arc A770 (opens in new tab); the A750s followed suit, so it's hard to recommend the A770s at this price, even though they are now being offered at such a low price. As for performance, there is not much difference between the two cards, and the A750 GPU and 8GB of RAM are more than enough to handle a really nice 1080p gaming session.

The cheapest offering is currently on backorder due to demand, but if you can wait, it's worth a look: the Intel Arc A750 Limited Edition 8GB GPU is $250, use promo code PAX323B on the site and the price is reduced to $225. (Opens in new tab) Ships from NewEgg's Intel store, not a third party in China.

The Intel Arc A750 Limited Edition 8GB GPU is the same card we reviewed (opens in new tab) and we found it to have great ray tracing performance. The limited edition cooling system on board is nice and quiet; in 1080p gaming, it's about on par with AMD's RX 6600, which can often be a cheaper option, but the $225 we paid for this card is definitely the right price.

These cards also come with an Intel gift bundle worth $490, but it doesn't seem worth the bother. Various software subscriptions and downloads are offered for Nightingale and The Settlers: New Allies. The full list of included can be checked here (opens in a new tab).

Intel GPUs are still fairly new in the grand scheme of things, but the Arc releases are proving to be decent gaming cards, even if modest. They are much cheaper than Nvidia's closest offerings like the RTX 3050 (open in new tab) and the immensely popular RTX 3060 (open in new tab), and currently go head-to-head with AMD's equivalent cards in the price war.

However, being a new product, it is worth doing a little research before jumping in, especially for seasoned PC builders. As mentioned earlier, to get the best performance, you need to make sure you are using a machine that supports Resize BAR. These cards, made for newer APIs, may have difficulty with DX11, older games, etc.
