The ultimate Flash game I played as a kid is now available on Steam.

If you grew up in the 2000s, as I did, you were probably absorbed in countless Flash games during school. The Impossible Quiz, Henry Stickman, and Line Rider. ...... It's a wonder computers didn't block Flash websites sooner.

However, there was a series of Flash games that I played outside of school hours. Papa Louie's games hold a big place in my heart and in the hearts of my friends. This time management sim required me to fulfill a variety of orders from increasingly demanding customers and to eat all kinds of food: Papa's Burgeria, Papa's Pizzeria, Papa's Taco Mia, and more. Papa's Burgeria, Papa's Pizzeria, Papa's Taco Mia, etc., etc. Until now.

Flipline Studio's long-running ice cream-themed series Papa's Freezeria has made a permanent home on Steam (opens in new tab) Flipline has apparently been teasing the game's arrival for several weeks, and I've been waiting for this very accurate I didn't know about it until this Reddit post (opens in new tab). The game is an enhancement to the original version, offering more ingredients, new customers, and new features such as customer attire and daily menus.

The original game is nearly 12 years old at this point, and certainly retains some Flash flavor in its art style and gameplay. But this is a nostalgia trip, and a relatively inexpensive one at that. It's less than a dollar, and even cheaper until April 7. I played this game for about 30 minutes while writing this article, and I've always been a bit of a fan of these cooking and time management games, and "Papa's Freesia" still works well. For those who didn't grow up with this game, it probably doesn't feel the same, but I'd forgotten how much fun it was, and I won't say no to Flipline eventually offering more libraries on Steam, because I'm sure they'd love to have more of the same.
