Production of EA's single-player "Iron Man" game has begun.

In September, Electronic Arts announced that a single-player Iron Man game was in pre-production, according to a recent AMA on Reddit (open in new tab) (via GamesRadar (open in new tab)). being developed by a team at EA Motive in Montreal in collaboration with Marvel, and is now officially in the works.

While the team responsible for the well-received Dead Space remake (which we gave an 84 in our review) will be "taking a well deserved break before deciding what's next," the u/DeadSpace Devs account says, "Motive has a great team that started work on Iron Man There are.

According to Motive's Careers page (opens in new tab), the studio is currently looking for a development director, senior gameplay programmer, AI programmer, and audio programmer for Iron Man. Presumably it is still in the early stages of production.

EA describes it as a "third-person action adventure," it describes. The game seems to be intentionally placed as far away from Marvel's "Avengers" as possible, perhaps aiming for an "Arkham Asylum" feel.

Developed by Olivier Proulx, a senior producer on Eidos-Montreal's "Guardians of the Galaxy," the characters engage in engaging dialogue as they slide down things and figure out how to open doors. It was a fun example of a prestige game that spends a lot of time. (Proulx was also the lead producer of the single player campaign for "Marvel's Avengers" and, before that, "Deus Ex: Mankind Divided."

More recently, I was able to spend a lot of time with Shellhead on Marvel's Midnight Suns. He was quite obnoxious at first, but by the end of the play he was an absolute beast on the battlefield. He also has a great line in the Forge. In other words, "Tony's Creepy Demon Cave." A new Iron Man video game would have to compete with this portrayal. It will also have to compete with the fun of playing Iron Man in "GTA 5."

A new Iron Man game is the perfect opportunity to bring back the strange mouse that looks like Iron Man's shrunken head. Someone make it happen.
