The Crew 3 is real and will be announced tomorrow

According to The Crew's official Twitter account, The Crew 3 is in development and will be announced tomorrow. Ubisoft's open-world racing series has never been a favorite of critics, but it should be a favorite of players: The Crew 2 is still receiving updates and seasonal events nearly five years after its 2018 release, which is Forza Horizon" series for a longer period of time than its main rivals receive care.

This confirmation was probably prompted by a data miner who claimed to have found evidence of the upcoming "The Crew" series in The Crew 2. In fact, Ubisoft's "Project Orlando" has been known and assumed to be a racing game for years now. According to this datamaniac, Project Orlando has become The Crew: Motorfest.

Project Orlando first came to light as part of Nvidia's massive database leak. At the time, it was thought to be DLC for The Crew 2, but the aforementioned data miner (whose screenshots were slammed with copyright claims) claims that it evolved into Motorfest.

... And it seems very likely. Ubisoft has yet to officially confirm the name "The Crew Motorfest," and judging by today's exchange, "The Crew 3" may be the name. The announcement is scheduled for January 31 at 5 pm UTC/9 am PST/6 pm BST or February 1 at 4 am AEST.

With stock prices plummeting and the overall mood of the company struggling, Ubisoft announced last week the cancellation of three unannounced projects, including the "Team Battle Arena" title known as Project Q. The project's survival is welcome news, at least to me, as I've always wanted "The Crew" to be done. The sequel featured planes and boats in a vast open world in the United States, and I enjoyed it there, but the driving and presentation were not as good as "Forza Horizon 4," which was released a few months later. Hopefully this time it will be a success.

Our review of "The Crew 2" largely concurred, with Andy Kelly writing that "the impressively huge and occasionally beautiful maps can't make up for the mediocre driving and lack of multiplayer options."
