144Hz 4K IPS gaming monitor at a $300 value

I'm a sucker for special deals on gaming monitors. Formerly known as the Eve Spectrum 4K gaming monitor (opens in new tab), the manufacturer is now called Dough (with good reason).

Still, you can't pass up the chance to purchase the Spectrum 4K for $649 (opens in new tab). However, this price includes the stand, so if you don't already have a monitor mount, you'll need to purchase an additional $99 for the stand.

We checked out the Spectrum 4K in 2021 and were seriously impressed. Its score of 90% was only marred by a few minor flaws. In fact, Dough managed to fan us with this entry into high-end gaming monitors, but the asking price, typically $949, was a serious concern of ours.

Now, this 27-inch, 144Hz gaming monitor, with its awesome LG IPS panel and wide range of connectivity options, can be yours at a much more affordable price.

There's a lot to like about this monitor, including great contrast, crisp colors, and great color saturation. Dough's factory calibration also impressed our Dave, although the LG panel does most of the work.

There are two HDMI 2.1 ports on the back as well as DisplayPort 1.4, and there are USB Type-B and Type-C hub options. It also has a DisplayPort Alt mode, which allows users to switch between viewing and charging their laptop via USB Type-C downstream.

However, if you are thinking of purchasing this product for console gaming, there is one thing to be aware of: while everything looks great on paper, with a DisplayHDR 600 rating and peak brightness of 750 cd/m2, the bottom edge-lit back lights suffer from this ugly rising column bleed effect in high contrast images.

Otherwise, this is a great gaming monitor for PC gaming, and you can get it now for a $300 discount. Time is ticking and you have a little over 5 days from posting to purchase.
