General
This Fallout 4 synth power armor mod looks so morbid that it makes me want to join the lab.

I'm not sure why, but there's something special about shiny white armor in sci-fi... . it looks sci-fi. Whether it's stormtroopers in "Star Wars," Combine Elite soldiers in "Half-Life 2," or even robots in "I, ROBOT," dazzling white armor looks more futuristic than shiny chrome or gunmetal gray.

And in apocalyptic settings, shiny white armor looks more badass. It tells us, "I am above all the dirt and dust that covers everything in this ruined world."

That's why I like the look of this Fallout 4 Synth Power Armor mod (opens in new tab) created by modders Tumbajamba (opens in new tab) and RedLeviathan (opens in new tab). It even comes with a red visor, which is the best solicitation to sign up for the institute. I know the synths at the institute work hard to blend in, but if you want to stand out instead, this armor set is perfect.

And it's not just a single, uniform set. The Synth Power Armor Mod is customizable, with different models and variations for the torso, arms, legs, and helmet. They are not just external variations, but come with a variety of effects that increase strength, improve defense, and buff energy and ballistic weapons. Some parts are designed for stealth and underwater missions. The mod also includes two custom jetpacks and an additional pouch that can be attached to increase the weight carried.

You won't even have to go all the way to the lab to get the Synth Armor starter set; once the mod is installed, the rogue synths hiding in the Lexington pharmacy will sell you the various parts you need to assemble your suit. If you decide to visit the lab, you can also find power armor in the FEV lab.

There is a Synth Power Armor mod for Tumbajamba in Nexus Mods (opens in new tab); the modder recommends installing it with Vortex (opens in new tab).
