Elden Ring streamers beat Margit to death with actual acoustic guitars.

Streamer MissMikkaa (opens in new tab), who used a level 1 character and a dance pad to defeat Eldenring superboss Marenia, has once again expanded her repertoire of bizarre boss slayings.

See for yourself:

You'll notice that Mikkaa uses a real acoustic guitar instead of a Guitar Hero-style controller. Then you may wonder how it works. The answer is a program called Abject Audio Inputs (opens in new tab), which ties audio frequencies to keyboard input, she said in another tweet (opens in new tab). Basically, you can use any sound to control the keyboard, whether recorded or live, "as long as you can maintain a certain consistency in tone."

"My guitar is connected to my gaming PC via an XLR cable," MissMikkaa explained during a recent live stream demonstrating the setup.

"Basically, how this software works is that there's a frequency that you look for for a particular [in-game] action. If you want to attack, you just assign it to the second frequency, A minor, and tap it. Then you can heal. This is R, the third line (of the software), the C chord on the guitar. Understand?

Miss Mickaiah admitted how ridiculous it looks to play the Elden Ring on a stringed instrument." I mean, I understand how it looks and how unbelievable it is, but it's definitely not fake. Instead of saying, "This isn't real," he said, "How does this work?" we can say, "This is not real"

.

In case you're wondering, playing Elden Ring with a guitar and weird software is obviously not easy; MissMikkaa was able to beat Margit, but I saw her on her Twitch (open in new tab) stream, where she was playing Godrick on guitar with I watched her fight the Grafted for about 15 minutes. She eventually moved on to a more orthodox guitar-driven exploration, but even that was clearly a struggle. Frankly, she has mastered the guitar and is doing better than I ever could with a conventional controller (open in new tab).

It's certainly not the way I want to play Elden Ring, but the commitment to this bit is impressive. Of course, MissMikkaaa is well known for exploring Lands Between in the strangest and most difficult ways: the last time she beat two of the Elden Ring's ratholes simultaneously, one with a dance pad and the other with a regular controller.
