New "Fallout" TV Series Reveals Set Photos of Iconic "Red Rocket" Gas Station

I am excited about the upcoming Fallout TV series (opens in new tab) being produced by Amazon Studios. Production just started last July and I wish there was more to see than just the one official screenshot released so far (opens in new tab).

Wish granted! A set under construction in New York City has been discovered by another avid Fallout fan. J. Carson on Twitter (opens in new tab) found the location of the shoot, still under construction, and posted some great photos. Even better, it is none other than the iconic Red Rocket fueling station.

In Bethesda's "Fallout" games, Red Rocket was a fuel station chain offering gasoline, diesel, and fusion (many prewar vehicles in the "Fallout" world were nuclear powered). In Fallout 4, Red Rocket truck stands are converted into settlements, and in Fallout 76 there are about a half dozen Red Rocket's throughout the map. These make great landmarks and are usually full of useful loot.

It's cool to see that part of the show will take place in and around Red Rocket. Obviously the set is not yet complete, and the Red Rocket itself has not yet been added to the rooftop (unless it will be made of CG). However, even with the sign still wrapped in plastic, the words Red Rocket are clearly visible. Faded red letters can also be seen on some of the pumps.

It appears to be fairly close to many Red Rocket locations in the Fallout games. For comparison, the Fallout 4 location near Sanctuary Hills and Vault 111, as well as a photo of the set, are shown below.

J. Carson has posted many photos of the set on Twitter (opens in new tab). It is unlikely that the production crew will allow the actors to take pictures when they arrive to start filming, but hopefully it won't be too long before official photos and the show's first teaser trailer are released.
