Warzone 2 will get its most requested features in Season 2, but we will have to wait a little longer.

Released in November, Call of Duty: Warzone 2 was, for the most part, a departure from the original game. It had nearly the same features, great new maps, a DMZ mode, and plenty of updates to improve quality of life. what Warzone 2 lacked was a small map, much to the dismay of a large portion of the community. Activision plans to remedy this in Season 2 by bringing back Resurgence mode and adding a new small map to go along with it, but it will likely take some time to happen.

Warzone 2 Season 2 has been delayed for two weeks and is now scheduled to begin on February 15; Activision explained the delay on Call of Duty's official Twitter account, stating that they are "making some changes based on what we've heard from the player community. We are making them."

One of these changes will likely be the early implementation of Resurgence mode, a variant of Battle Royale that allows squads to respawn if at least one teammate survives, with smaller maps. The Warzone community's infatuation with smaller maps Rebirth was originally intended to be a limited-time map to promote the release of Black Ops Cold War, but fans enjoyed the fast-paced battle royale format so much that Activision eventually decided to convert the 40-player map into a 150-player Verdict Island. map to remain as a permanent 150-player Verdansk map.

For many players, Rebirth Island (and later its successor, Fortune's Keep) became the preferred way to play Warzone. but at least the map will appear soon.

Season 2 will also include a ranked mode (both Warzone and Modern Warfare 2 multiplayer), new Modern Warfare 2 multiplayer maps, weapons, and "a whole lot more." We'll hear more specifics when Activision is ready to officially announce Season 2 in the coming weeks.
