General
You can play Elden Ring like Geogesser right now.

Of all the achievements of "The Elden Ring," the vast and detailed world of "The Land of Narrows" will make your dull jaw drop time and time again. Toward the end of the game, when I thought I wouldn't be playing it again for a long time, I stopped my search for the Great Rune and just wandered around, warping from place to place, remembering some of the game's spectacular sights.

Apparently I was not the only one who had such an urge. TheEdenChild (opens in new tab) writes.

"After much trial and error, I was able to capture over 8,000 locations in the Eldenring overworld.

You can play this game in your browser (opens in new tab). The most impressive aspect of the game is its recreation of a Geoguessr-style interface. We took hundreds of thousands of raw images and stitched them together to create a 360-degree panorama. We also created a half-dozen satellite maps of the world (zoom in enough and you can see the animals) to allow for more accurate inferences. We also have custom settings, leaderboards, and multiplayer support, with more features to come in the future!"

Now, despite all the sightseeing, it turns out that I was a little bad at this. In my defense, there are many similar churches, but it is still great to revisit a memorable place. Elden Ring is a worthy winner of PCG's Game of the Year 2022 (open in new tab), and for some, this environment alone may have been the highlight of this year's gaming (open in new tab).
