GOG is distributing this small island adventure game for free.

No thanks, but I've sorted out my weekend plans: the charming, cozy, lovely little island adventure game Haven Park, released in 2021, is now free on GOG, and if you claim it before the time expires on January 23 at 6am PST / 2pm UTC, you'll have it forever. You can keep it.

And you should. I played Haven Park a few years ago and fell in love with its colorful world, delightful characters, and all the work you undertake as Flint, the friendly little bird who took over his grandmother's island camping attraction.

The island is not large, but it is beautiful and diverse, with snow-capped mountains, lush little forests, rolling waterfalls, and meadows filled with butterflies. There is much to do, from gathering wood and metal to fix broken campsites to installing new objects such as tents, swings, and lampposts. As you begin to repair and clean up the campsites, new animals will arrive to enjoy the idyllic island.

New visitors will occasionally give you quests and games. One dwarf wanted to play hide-and-seek and I spent hours finally finding a place to hide. Some oddballs also challenge me to trivia games or ask me to find a crown to become king of the mountain. The quests are fun, sometimes unexpected, and there is more to do than just gather materials to fix the fence and fix the campsite. As the repairs to the island progress, so does the story of her grandmother and her time on the island.

It's not a terribly long game, and according to my Steam history, it took me about 6 hours to complete everything. I may play it again this weekend. Get Haven Park for free on GOG (opens in a new tab) before time runs out.
