Wizards of the Coast, creators of Dungeons & Dragons, worked with Lego to develop a plan to celebrate D&D's 50th anniversary. The result is this sub-3,000-piece, picturesque, moving D&D dungeon map, which will soon become an official LEGO set.

In October, hopeful designers were asked to submit a Lego diorama representation of a favorite feature of their most cherished tabletop role-playing game. And it was this beautiful, nerdy marriage that prompted Wizards of the Coast to collaborate with a PC case manufacturer to create the same.

The winner, chosen by fans and judges, was Dragon's Keep: "Journey's End" (opens in new tab), a creation by Lucas of Amsterdam (known as BoltBuilds on the Lego site), who received "1% of the total net sales of the product," " 10 free copies of the design," as well as receiving credit as the designer.

Made in less than 3,000 pieces, "Dragon's Keep: Journey's End" features "a great route with a door that can be changed every time," meaning it can actually be used as a functional D&D map in the game.

The green dragon also appears to be fully poseable, but whether it will appear in the final set is another matter entirely. Imagine if we were to commission a D&D-inspired PC case for the 50th anniversary, it would be a dream come true.
