The World's Worst Cookie Gets an Xbox Version

Xbox has announced a collaboration with the mysterious and popular Oreo cookie. The flavorless Oreo pack will be sold in special Xbox packs and will be imprinted with six different images, including "the iconic A, B, X, and Y controller buttons." I've never looked at a controller button and thought it was iconic.

This sponsorship would not be complete without in-game proof of dedication to Oreo. When cookie designs are combined and entered into various sequences, Oreo-themed items are unlocked, including armor packs and skins for "Forza Horizon 5," "Sea of Thieves," and "Halo Infinite." In addition, as a thank you for contributing data to the cookie magnate, you can enter a drawing to win a variety of kits, including "custom Oreo hardware". We're picturing an Xbox Series X in the shape of a cookie, but alas, we don't have that image in mind.

Xbox Oreos will be available this month (in select countries, of course). This is the latest in a long list of food partnerships involving Xbox, joining a list that includes Doritos, Mountain Dew, Krispy Kreme, Taco Bell, Pizza Hut, and Rockstar Energy Drink. The theme is enough to make one think that Microsoft's next food partner may be in the salad business.

The tie-in has an official website that promises some level of interactivity, but currently there is only a "coming soon" notice (check back on January 16, 2023). Perhaps this will inspire the latest round of shoplifting (opens in new tab) by DLC, perhaps not.
