Fortnite", Epic is struggling to squash multiple serious bugs.

Fortnite returned today after about an hour of unscheduled downtime, but not long ago players were unable to log into the game. These problems seemed to stem from a barrage of game-breaking glitches related to recently added features. The biggest glitch seemed to be with the Shockwave Hammer, a weapon designed to be powerful up close and to exhibit enormous leaping power when closing the distance... Except that the cooldown on the latter is not triggered.

Thus, as in the clip above, players could spam the Shockwave Hammer indefinitely, always granting super leaps, before Epic announced the weapon's return a few hours ago, finally disabling the hammer (open in new tab) in all playlists made.

There was also a problem with the game's recently introduced jumping box mechanism, and it was the same story: Epic disabled it, but the feature was recently restored.

However, things are not over yet. As of this writing, Fortnite is currently experiencing widespread login problems, with a third problem remaining. The Deck Smash ability, introduced as part of the My Hero Academia crossover, was removed several weeks ago.

The tweet showing this attack is also a straightforward example of Fortnite 2023.

There is no ETA on when (or if) this attack will return, and Epic introduced multiple items in Season 4 that have essentially still not worked. The game's current login issues are still ongoing at the time of publication of this article: you can check Fortnite's current status here (opens in a new tab).

Epic's best-in-class support for "Fortnite" as a live service game will no doubt crush the last gremlins in due time. The game recently received an upgrade that seems to have transformed "Fortnite" into a graphics powerhouse almost overnight (opens in new tab). A few weeks ago, Epic was fined $500 million by the FTC (opens in new tab) for failing to protect children's privacy.
