General
We will have to wait a little longer for the arrival of the much-hyped AMD gaming CPUs.

Update Remember the release date (opens in new tab) for AMD's new 3D V-Cache-equipped Ryzen 7000 X3D processor posted on their website, which we introduced yesterday, but the "February 14" date is wrong and has been removed from AMD's website? It has been removed from AMD's website.

According to WCCFTech (opens in new tab), the chip will still be available next month, but not on the 14th. This suggests that it will be available later this month. However, this date has indeed been removed from AMD's website.

We also do not yet know exactly how much of a ransom we will have to pay for the benefit of 3D stacked cache memory. Currently, the Ryzen 9 7950X sells for about $570 and the 5900X for about $460. The X3D versions of these chips will obviously cost more than that, but it is not clear how much more.

The Ryzen 7 7800X3D, on the other hand, has no directly equivalent non-X3D version; the closest AMD is selling is the $350 Ryzen 7 7700X. Incidentally, the 5800X3D also has no official base clock, only a 5 GHz Turbo speed listed so far.

Of course, 3D V-Cache shizz' is the use of 3D packaging technology to augment the CPU's cache memory, which has the advantage of reducing traffic on the CPU's memory bus, reducing latency and increasing frame rates.

AMD's previous generation Ryzen 7 5800X3D (opens in new tab) was quite the gaming beast, so we are very interested to see how well V-Cache will work on the new 7000 series CPUs. I will review the new chip as soon as I get it. Whenever that happens.
