Marvel Snap's latest update is commendable.

The latest update to the superhero card battle "Marvel Snap" includes new cards, balance changes, and a new bundle in the store, but there are some fascinating new features not mentioned in the patch notes. As Senior Producer Nicki Broderick announced on Twitter, you can now see artist credits for cards you own. As with the comic books, the artists responsible for penciling, inking, and coloring are listed.

"The team worked super hard on this," said the artist. 'Honestly, we wanted to include this feature for the global launch, but we had other features that needed to take priority. Thank you for your patience.

Once you have installed the latest update, simply click on a card in your collection and click on the nameplate at the top (labeled "Base" or "Variant") to see the artist's name and a symbol indicating their role. All of the base sets were drawn for the game, but many of the variants are adaptations of specific covers or panels.

In the image below, the credits can be seen at the top.

While most players will be more excited by the prospect of balance changes and bug fixes rather than these features, it is really encouraging to see the video game artists credited prominently. Usually they fit into the last 10-minute scroll at best, or are essentially absent from most live service games. The characters' iconic appearances and costumes are essential to their survival in popular culture, and it is their longevity that makes games like "Marvel Snap" possible.
