Alienware Announces 14" and 18" Gaming Laptops

Alienware and Dell have announced that they will be revamping their entire line of gaming laptops at CES 2023 this week. From ultra-slim to massive workstations, Alienware and Dell are hoping their newly designed laptops will catch your eye, regardless of your budget.

The M Series laptops are Alienware's flagship laptops, available in 16" and 18" models. That's right, the massive 18-inch QHD+ (2560 x 1600) panel is available in FHD+ (1920 x 1200) at 165 Hz or 480 Hz, with an aspect ratio of 16:10, giving you more on screen than a typical 16:9. This powerful m18 desktop not only has a larger screen, but also more features under the hood. It will be powered by Intel's latest 13th generation Core i9-13980HX processor and a "next generation" Nvidia RTX Laptop GPU, possibly from the RTX 40 series (open in new tab) family.

AMD fans will be pleased to know that there are m18 specs available for purchase with AMD's as-yet-unannounced latest Ryzen CPUs and Radeon GPUs; according to Alienware, improved cooling in the M series will increase thermal capacity by 35% and airflow is said to increase by 25%. According to the press release, the high-end configuration of the Alienware m18 will be available "this winter," with prices starting at $2,899 in the US. Alienware plans to release an entry-level model later this year at a more affordable price of $2,099.

The X Series is Alienware's thin luxury gaming notebooks, significantly thinner than the M Series. x14 is 0.57" thick and is billed as "the world's thinnest 14" gaming laptop. The x14 will ship this winter with RTX 3050, 4050, and 4060 GPUs starting at $1,799. If this is a little too small for you, there is a 16-inch model, the x16, starting at $3,099. Entry-level specs starting at $2,149 are also available

On the lower end, Dell will release the G15 and G16 gaming laptops this spring for $849 and $1,499, respectively.
