Don't worry, this one's on the better side: while the first Evil Within was less scary but more technical, the second is more open in design, giving you a better grasp of the guilt-ridden characters. Overall, the game is much more confident than its predecessor, even if the first film had the old survival-horror charm.

When Joe Donnelly gave Evil Within 2 a high score of 80% in his review, he praised its extraordinary scare set pieces, noting that it infused classic survival horror with "enough psychological terror to keep it fresh." He also ranked it on his list of the best horror games you can play right now.
