To reduce confusion when purchasing "Hitman," IO Interactive is making a major change to the way all three modern stealth classics are sold: starting January 26, there will be only one complete version of Hitman. That version will be called "Hitman: World of Assassination" and will include all the base levels of "Hitman 1," "Hitman 2," and "Hitman 3" in one package.

The main details of the "World of Assassination" version are described in a separate article (opens in new tab), but this is all you need to know here. If you're a "Hitman" newbie looking for the best deal, buy "Hitman 3" on Steam right now for $20.99 (opens in new tab). Not only is this a great price for one of our favorite games (#5 on our Top 100 list (open in new tab)), but on January 26th, "Hitman 3" will become "Hitman: World of Assassination" and all non-DLC levels from "Hitman 1" and "Hitman 2" will will be unlocked for free. The sale price for [Hitman 3] is only valid for two more days and will probably be the lowest for a long time. As part of the title change/bundling process, IO is also raising the total price of "Hitman 3" to $70. That's still a fair price considering the volume of the game, but better than $70 is $20.99. The only drawback to buying "Hitman 3" now is that the levels from "Hitman 1" and "Hitman 2" will not be unlocked until the "World of Assassination" transition later this month.

If you don't want to wait until January 26 and just want all the basic Hitman levels, the "Hitman Trilogy (open in new tab)" pack is also available for $34.99. And if you want all the DLC levels as well (and you probably will, because they are great), they are also available now for the discounted price of $20.98 (open in new tab), making them cost effective. In other words, buying all of "Hitman" now would cost about $42, or $60 less than buying it at the end of January.
