What a surprise: Ad for "Goat Simulator 3" with leaked footage of "GTA 6" removed.

When it was revealed that an advertisement for "Goat Simulator 3" (opens in new tab) used footage from the massive "GTA 6" leak earlier this year, Rockstar Games' parent company, Take Two Interactive, issued a notice of removal.

In other words, it was always going to happen.

The trailer (which opens in a new tab) is structured as an interview with an NPC called Sean, who talks about his work on "Goat Simulator 3" and mentions other games in which he has appeared.

This is typical of "Goat Simulator 3," i.e., it's just attention-seeking and not as interesting as developer Coffee Stain North thinks it is. In any case, it will inevitably draw the ire of Take-Two's legal department, which has been hammering away at almost anyone who shared the leaked footage (opens in new tab).

The leak of "GTA 6," arguably the largest leak of its kind, occurred in September and was allegedly carried out (opens in new tab) by a 17-year-old boy from Oxfordshire, believed to be involved in the hacking group Lapsus$. The 17-year-old appeared in court later that month and was charged with two counts of computer fraud and two counts of violating bail conditions.

PC Gamer has discussed the GTA 6 leak in detail (opens in new tab) immediately following the leak, and has also picked up on what we learned (and what we didn't) about GTA 6 from the leaked footage (opens in new tab). Rockstar issued a statement expressing the studio's disappointment over the leak, but said it would have no "long-term impact" on the game's progress
