Gigabyte RTX 4070 Ti AERO, triple fan setup shown for the first time

It looks like a white Christmas indeed, judging by this photo of Gigabyte's new RTX 4070, spotted by VideoCardz (opens in new tab), which confirms the release of the new 4070 Ti GPU, which appears to have similar specifications to the 12GB 4080 (opens in new tab) that Nvidia tried to release but no one wanted. It appears to have similar specifications to the 12GB 4080 (opens in new tab) that Nvidia tried to release but no one wanted.

If it comes at the right price, the 4070 Ti would be a great compromise between value and performance. This is what we have been looking for from Nvidia, especially after seeing the poor performance of the RTX 4060 (opens in new tab).

Gigabyte's RTX 4070 Ti AERO features a three fan configuration that looks like an all white color scheme. In the image, some of the plastic looks a bit yellowish, like a plastic toy or high-tech chassis from the 80s, but I think this is more of a lighting issue than an actual appearance. Those familiar with Gigabyte's "Vision" series of cards will notice the similarities in this new 4070 Ti homage.

Besides showing off the cool white exterior, the image also shows off the new pin adapter cable. This is a 2x8-pin to 1x16-pin adapter made by Nvidia to help bridge the gap and hopefully eliminate the need for anyone to replace all their kit soon. This is similar to the adapters found on some of the higher series cards, so it is nice to see it included in this series.

This triple-fan solution also looks like a fairly large heatsink that is mostly exposed thanks to the short PCB. This is a good sign and the card seems to cope well with the heat. Heat can be one of the hardest things to manage in a build, especially if you live in a warm climate, so it is good to see Gigabyte taking the Aero name literally with this build.

Nvidia will be announcing a new GPU on January 3, so we will know more about these cards then; according to VideoCardz, the RTX 4070 Ti AERO will be announced at a special presentation on January 3 and will be available on January 5. Let's hope that its selling price is what we expect from this new line. Otherwise, we may end up smelling Nvidia (opens in new tab) rather than using Nvidia GPUs.
