"The Elden Ring," the game that dominated 2022 and probably as close to universal Game of the Year as you can get, is, of course, still not on sale: for the first time since its February release, From Software's action-RPG epic has been reduced to 2022 Steam Winter Sale, and the price has been slashed for the sake of the Winter Sale.

Steam's Elden Ring (opens in new tab) is currently $42/£35/€42, 30% off the regular price. The Deluxe Edition of Elden Ring, which includes the full game, digital artbook and soundtrack, is also discounted by the same amount, at $56/£46/€56.

While not the biggest discount of the winter sale, it is the biggest price cut to date for "The Elden Ring". Frankly, it is unlikely to get any cheaper anytime soon. Elden Ring was Soulike's first mainstream hit, a huge success, and once the DLC is released (opens in new tab), its popularity is sure to skyrocket even further. Elden Ring will be on par with hits such as Starfield and Diablo 4 Elden Ring" could very well be one of the biggest games of 2023 (opens in new tab), on par with hits like "Starfield" and "Diablo 4. FromSoftware could further reduce the price of this game in next year's sale, but that won't be necessary.
