Noctua offers sad beige keycaps to sad beige gamers

Drop, maker of keyboards for enthusiasts, recently joined forces with everyone's favorite brown PC parts manufacturer to launch their most tasteless product yet: the MiTo MT3 Noctua keycap set (opens in new tab). It's a Drop x Noctua exclusive for sad beige (opens in new tab) gamers.

The keycaps are not my favorite, but after 10 minutes of complaining in the office, Twitch streamer and cozy gaming enthusiast MahinTheMachine (opens in new tab) - who happens to be on PC Gamer's video team - somehow got me may have succeeded in drawing me into the beige colorway.

I'm now convinced this would be a pretty cozy setup under the right circumstances. And the photos of Noctua-based peripheral games posted in the Drop community (opens in a new tab) show its appeal.

Keycaps aren't the only thing Noctua is taking out to match its iconic brown PC fans. The company recently announced a $10 screwdriver (opens in new tab), and yes, it too is brown.

The keycaps are compatible with Cherry MX stem switches, are made of double-shot ABS, and come with an MT3 profile.

That would be too fancy and impractical for Noctua.

The base keycap set is currently $99, but normally retails for $130. The matching curled beige connecting cable is $75, and the Drop + Noctua deskmat is another $35.

I think you'd have to be worryingly obsessed with the color brown to spend this much on your own setup.
