General
Kojima Productions is making a movie about "Death Stranding".

Kojima Productions, in conjunction with Hammerstone Studios, will adapt the hit game Death Stranding (opens in new tab) into a film. The film adaptation will feature "new elements and characters" in the world of Death Stranding, with game director Hideo Kojima and film producer Bill and Ted Face the Music, Barbarian, and Boy Kills World Developed under the guidance of Alex Lebovich of Hammerstone.

"We couldn't be more excited about our new partnership with Hammerstone Studios. This is a pivotal moment for the franchise and we are really looking forward to working with them to bring Death Stranding to the big screen."

"We are thrilled and honored to have the opportunity to partner with the brilliant and iconic Hideo Kojima on his first film adaptation. Unlike other big-budget blockbuster video game adaptations, this one will be more intimate and down-to-earth. Our goal is to redefine what a video game adaptation can be when there is creative and artistic freedom. This film will be a genuine Hideo Kojima film."

No details about the "Death Stranding" game, including plot, cast, or release date, have been released as of yet, but Kojima Productions has stated that development on the project is "progressing at a rapid pace."

Information about the "Death Stranding" film comes less than a week after the announcement of "Death Stranding 2" (opens in new tab), which will feature Norman Reedus as Sam Porter Bridges and Léa Seydoux as Fragile again. The strange and lengthy trailer for the Death Stranding sequel is below.
