GTA Online" Players Steal $4 Trillion in One Week and Everyone Gets a Free Car

In 2020, Rockstar Games hosted a "Heist Challenge" event in Grand Theft Auto Online (opens in new tab). The community responded by stealing 10 times more than $1 trillion by the end of the event. So in 2022, Rockstar slapped a challenge on $2 trillion (opens in new tab).

Rockstar revealed today that players have taken in an "utterly staggering" $4 trillion. Because of that most impressive achievement (which will no doubt come back to haunt players in the next "heist challenge," but that's a matter for later), a very sexy retro-style machine, the "Declasse Tahoma Coupe," will be available to everyone for a limited time in an update scheduled for late December It will be available for free to everyone.

That is one sweet looking ride. Believe it or not, I owned one just like it in real life when I was much, much younger.

The December update will bring many other changes and tweaks to GTA Online, many of which are based on player feedback.

General improvements

Vehicle updates

Economic updates

According to Rockstar, the December update is "the first of a large multi-part update that will take you throughout the vast expanse of Southern San Andreas and will include familiar faces and and a new troupe of entrepreneurs on a mission to expand the hearts and minds of the citizens of Los Santos, one journey at a time." New vehicles, world events, contact missions, and other new content will also be available.

"Thank you to everyone who has played a major role in the continued growth and exciting new heights of GTA Online and for all of your valuable and constructive feedback. We will continue to incorporate your ideas and requests as we further evolve GTA Online with each update."

No date has been announced for the December update of GTA Online.
