General
Noctua is now producing a $10 driver.

When it comes to the king of PC fans, Noctua wears its brown crown proudly. The brand is known for PC fans that do a great job of cooling your rig comfortably while being as quiet and long-lasting as possible, which is why the Noctua NF-S12B redux-1200 has become our favorite fan (opens in new tab) to adorn PC cases. noctua is also known for its brown color, basically everything they make is tinged with the interior tones of 1970s cars, and the new screwdriver (opens in new tab) is no different.

When Noctua makes an inlet spacer (opens in new tab), a GPU (opens in new tab), or almost anything else, you can bet it comes in a nice two-tone shade of brown and brown. Many have scoffed at the brand, but this is a badge of honor and a sign of a quality product. Let's hope it bodes well for the new Noctua-branded tools.

The first of the pair is the Noctua NM-SD1 Torx T20 driver (opens in new tab). This is specifically designed for use with Noctua CPU coolers that use the SecuFirm2+ mounting system. This makes it a bit of a niche case, but it makes sense to design it specifically for what you are installing.

The Noctua NM-SD2 (opens in new tab) is a plus PH2 driver head that is coveting a larger audience. The listing states it is for Noctua heatsinks, but it should work for a variety of PC parts and perhaps other jobs around the house. With its versatility, it is no wonder that it is listed as sold out in the Amazon store (opens in new tab).

Both seem to be sturdy screwdrivers with long 150 mm shafts for hard-to-reach places deep inside PC cases. They also have a magnet on the tip, which is ideal for holding screws in place. It allows the user to reach deep into the case without having to use the other hand to hold the screw in place. If you've never used a screwdriver with a magnetic tip, trust me, you've never used a screwdriver with a magnetic tip.

At just under $10 a piece, I would definitely get a pair, but they don't seem to be available in Australia yet. However, they don't seem to be available in Australia yet. They are obviously not as good as the higher-end tools, but as a simple screwdriver they are very nice, and of course very brown. If not for yourself, this Noctua screwdriver would make a great gift or giveaway for PC enthusiasts.
