While everyone is eagerly awaiting Grand Theft Auto 6, many Red Dead Redemption 2 superfans are feeling cold feet. So far, there is not the slightest chance of more DLC being added to RDR2, and Rockstar confirmed in July that there will be no more "major" updates to Red Dead Online. On the development front, the epic cowboy adventure feels like a ghost town.

However, the modders are not giving up, and if you are looking for new activities in the "RDR2" single-player, there is some strong news for your sake. The role of the moonshine trafficker in "Red Dead Online" has been recreated in the "RDR2" single-player mod, allowing Arthur Morgan to take on a new career as a moonshine trafficker.

The Moonshiner Role mod (opens in new tab) does not inherit all the features of the online version, but there is a surprising amount to play this role in single-player. Your undertaking begins by knocking a moonshine cook named Clint out of jail in Valentine, picking a location on the map, and setting up camp (which costs $100). Unfortunately, there is no moonshine shack like the online version, but the camp can brew all sorts of "sparkles" and has a delivery van.

Brewing seems to work similarly to the Red Dead Online activity. You choose the type of moonshine you want to make, and the more potent (and precious) types take longer. There is a mash of different flavors and a list of ingredients to buy in stores or gather around the map. Then there is the important and harrowing task of carefully driving a wagon loaded with fragile liquor bottles down narrow, bumpy roads to deliver and sell liquor to customers. The more you deliver, the more you earn, but your notoriety as a moonshine trafficker grows, and the old-fashioned lawmen step in on the trail.

You also have to watch out for rival moonshine trafficker gangs that may attack you during deliveries or raid your camp. But you are Arthur Flippin Morgan, and you don't have to take it easy: there are missions to sabotage (and kill) the moonshine rivals. If you wipe out the competing gangs and destroy their equipment, we suggest you bring along some dynamite.
