BioShock 4 adds "Ghost of Tsushima" scriptwriter

Information about BioShock 4 (opens in new tab) is still scarce, but we do know one thing better than yesterday: Ghost of Tsushima writer Liz Albl has joined Cloud Chamber's development team and will be responsible for the game's scenario.

"We have a lot more information than we did yesterday.

"The dream is real!" Albl announced on Twitter.

"So happy to announce that I have joined Cloud Chamber as Bioshock's Narrative Lead.

Bioshock is a shooter, but it is an unusually narrative-driven series. Yes, it's still about blasting the hell out of everything that moves with guns, power, and all sorts of poorly stored explosives, but you're also playing through heady issues of philosophy, politics, racism, morality, ethics, and much, much more. The aftertaste of "BioShock: Infinite" was particularly bad. However, story and character play a much more important role in the BioShock series than in other FPS games.

Therefore, the hiring of Alvre is quite significant, and she brings considerable experience to the role. Her previous scripted work includes "Assassin's Creed: Black Flag" and "Rogue," "Far Cry 4" and "5," "Watch Dogs: Legion," and most recently "Ghost of Tsushima" (opens in new tab), which It was nominated for numerous scenario awards (among other categories) at The Game Awards in 2020 (where it also won the fan-voted "Player's Voice (opens in new tab)" award), Golden Joysticks, DICE Awards, and GDC Awards.

Unfortunately (but as expected), Albl's announcement revealed nothing more about the new "BioShock" and we are almost completely in the dark as to what will appear: according to leaked information from 2021 (opens in new tab), the new game will be set in a 1960s Antarctic city This is very BioShock-esque, but there is no further information about it. In fact, until today, there has been no further news on the matter. As of now, more information is available on the BioShock movie currently in production on Netflix (opens in new tab). (Unfortunately, this too has no release date yet)
