About Us" Announces Official "Hide and Seek" Mode

"Among Us" (opens in new tab) made an exciting announcement for longtime fans at the Game Awards pre-show today. Hey, it's tomorrow!

"Hide and Seek" has been on the development roadmap for "Among Us" for some time, but no release date had been set.

As far as I know, "Hide and Seek" was originally created by fans, who came up with a novel new way to play "Among Us" using agreed-upon rules. At the start of the round, the imposter calls a meeting, immediately identifies himself as the monster, and counts down from 15 while the rest of the players scatter and hide. When the countdown ends, the imposter goes looking for everyone and kills as many as possible.

There are several different versions of the rule, but usually no murders are reported and the crew must complete all their missions (even if they have been killed and turned into ghosts) in order to win. The impostor wins if he kills everyone, and even if only one player is left alive.

Starting tomorrow, the official mode will handle all rules and scoring, so players will no longer have to play by hand.
