General
The release date patch for Warhammer 40,000: Darktide is a big one.

Today is the official release date of Warhammer 40,000: Darktide (opens in new tab) and the launch day patch (opens in new tab). It is what developer Fatshark calls "ogrin-sized," and in case you are unfamiliar with the term, the ogrin in the image above is a large one.

Actually, there are two patches out today: 1.0.10 is for all PC platforms (Steam and Microsoft Store) and 1.0.11 is Steam-only but also includes all the fixes from 1.0.10. This may seem a bit confusing, but Fatshark says that the content and weapon balance changes are identical in both patches, and that they aim to "equalize" the update numbers in future patches.

Both updates are considerably enhanced with fixes focused on stability, matchmaking and network disconnects, and gameplay tweaks and balancing. The developers are also focusing on improving Darktide's ray tracing performance, which has been disabled on AMD and Intel GPUs while they work on hardware-specific issues.

"Please continue to report issues and express your thoughts on our Discord channel and Fatshark forum. Our social channels also provide regular updates."

Update includes new zone " Habzone HL-", which also includes. 19-24, "Throneside" was unexpectedly overrun by enemy forces. Your mission is to cut off supply lines and annihilate the enemy forces before they can consolidate their positions.

There are also two new missions at cargo port HL-32-2 "The Hourglass":

And of course, there are a number of known issues still being worked on. Ray tracing is at the top of the list, but there are a few other issues that currently remain:

The update has a brief FAQ and a few links that players may find useful.

We are still putting all of our efforts into reviewing Warhammer 40,000: Darktide, but in an ongoing review (open in new tab) we affirmed that it is a worthy successor to Vermintide, but still needs considerable work. It also struggles with the queue (open in new tab), but I expect that (at least) that will be resolved soon.
