Spider-Man: Miles Morales stops honking his horn in the most moving scene
The latest update to [Spider-Man: Miles Morales] (opens in a new tab) fixes one of the game's most interesting bugs. The new patch no longer randomly ends the game's most tender and vulnerable moments with a sharp blast of air horns. Unfortunately.

This bug has been known for a little while, and you can see an example below (but beware of very mild spoilers). For whatever reason, it seems that the game was triggering something like the airhorn.wav effect completely randomly. Some people, as in the video below, trigger it at the end of the dialogue, while others say it goes off at random times, as if Miles is being followed everywhere by his own personal vuvuzela choir.

But no gold remains. According to yesterday's patch to the game (opens in new tab) (via PCGamesN (opens in new tab)), "For some players, an unintended air horn sound that could occur in some cutscenes has been removed," so Miles' adventure is no longer interrupted by a series of horns and beeps no longer be interrupted. However, I wouldn't worry too much. It seems like only a matter of time before someone makes a modification that will undo it.

The patch also fixed a few other things, but the horns are the star here. Nevertheless, Steam Deck players will be pleased to know that Deck's gyro controls are now used in the scene where Miles rotates hand-held items, and that the option to skip the charming but repetitive fast-moving animation can now be toggled in the game menu The new option to skip the attractive but repetitive fast-movement animation can now be toggled in the game menu. Otherwise, ray tracing has been improved and there were my favorite "various bug fixes."

We liked Miles Morales rather well, even better than the previous game, a Peter Parker-focused epic, and Insomniac's Web Em Up scored an excellent 84% in our review (open in new tab), cutting through the bloat of the previous game. We praised the points that we made. We criticized a few bugs and graphical glitches, so it may be partially our fault that even the fun stuff got squashed.
