18 Years After 'My Life Was Ruined,' David Harbour Is Streaming 'World of Warcraft': Dragonflight

"Stranger Things" star David Harbour revealed in June that "World of Warcraft" ruined his life (opens in new tab). 'In 2005, I played the shit out of this game!' He said at Netflix's Stranger Things panel. 'It ruined my life for a year. It drove me crazy. I was so addicted to this game. Eventually, he gave up the habit and built a career as a respected and beloved character actor. But now he's crawling back.

Harbor will be streaming "World of Warcraft: Dragonflight" (opens in new tab) dungeon run today, December 2 at 2pm PT/ET. The event has been officially enabled by Blizzard and will feature streamers from Maximum, AnnieFuchsia, Naguura, Larsfest, and more.

Incidentally, Harbour is not returning to the game completely cold: Blizzard had already exploited his WoW weakness in the Dragonflight promo they released last week.

He seems to be having fun, but I'm not sure if he looks healthy here.

Celebrity endorsements are common, but all joking aside, Harbour's interest and enthusiasm for World of Warcraft is genuine. He confirms that he was not just a casual tourist, but an experienced raider, saying in a Netflix June chat, "I was a night elf warrior called Norad, and he was the second tank in my entire guild."

Ironically, it was another video game, The Sims, that got Harbour out of his WoW addiction: Harbour wanted his avatar in the game to be career-oriented, but "all he wanted to do was sit and play video games. Then I was like, whoa, whoa, whoa, and I had this whirlwind moment where I could see my life in front of me." Hopefully I won't have to jump back into the game again to remind myself that there is work to be done and bills to be paid.

World of Warcraft: Dragonflight went live earlier this week and seems to be soaring nicely after the usual server crashes (opens in new tab). If you're just starting out, there are a few guides that may be helpful:
