General
Here are some mods to make Darktide run more comfortably on low-end PCs.

Did you buy Darktide even though your PC barely meets or does not meet the system requirements (opens in new tab)? I don't recommend buying and playing a game that your PC can't/shouldn't run, but are you the type of person who prefers to live dangerously" Maybe you're just dumb and forgot to check the specs and now the refund period has passed.

Or maybe you're just some sort of enlightened gamer for whom graphics that are merely conceptual and look like something else are not the key to true happiness?

Either way, modder yakuzadeso has you covered: with Performance Boost for Potato PC, now available on Nexusmods (open in new tab), Warhammer 40,000: Darktide (open in new tab ) can make Warhammer 40,000: Darktide (opens in a new tab) look a little... It can make it look not so good. But maybe it runs great, and that's sometimes enough!

The mod comes with 3 presets: Potato full, Potato lite, Potato shadows; the full version has reduced LOD, shadows, global illumination, volume fog, particles, effects and smoke, geometry detail decals, and on-screen effects. The other two presets disable, well, less stuff.

The real magic is in the included notes.txt file. It will be appreciated by those who have problems to solve with certain potato PCs, such as underpowered processors or graphics cards, weak RAM, etc. [yakuzadeso cites the PC on which he created this mod as having a 3200g processor, 16GB RAM, Nvidia 1060 3GB or higher, which is the minimum recommended hardware for Darktide. Still, perhaps some of them would be useful.

The cooperative shooter Warhammer 40,000: Darktide (opens in new tab) has been out for a few days now and is a must for those who love the Warhammer universe and zombie and demon cooperative shooters. A review of Darktide (opens in new tab) is in progress, so if you're interested, please refer there.
