Warzone 2" Whack-a-Mole Begins Infinite XP Bug Found, Patched in Hours

When a player discovered a glitch in Call of Duty: Warzone 2, which allows players to level up their guns from base level to maximum level in a single match, developer Raven Software quickly sprang into action and squashed it. This was thanks to the exponential XP rewards earned by repeatedly safecracking, one of the game's in-game contracts.

Interestingly, this is a recurring bug in Call of Duty. The ones that are particularly memorable, like the supply run mission spree, are basically the same every time, but it's a specific mission where the XP reward increases exponentially the more you play it.

This mission consisted of finding and completing a safecracking contract on a mini-map and repeating it. It's easy: Youtuber IceManIsaac discovered this trick, and as you can see in his video, the amount you get each time is nudging up, and by the fifth or sixth time you should be earning enough to max out the weapons you have equipped.

In addition to direct XP, you can also earn huge amounts of cash on these missions if you are cracking along like this (b'dum tsh). Armor plates are the cheapest item in the store, but the key here is that for some reason you get weapon XP for using the store.

A few hours ago, Raven Software announced that the "Most Wanted" contract has been temporarily voided in-game. Based on past experience, another problem will soon appear. This particular type of exploit has appeared before in the multiplayer modes of OG Warzone and COD and was quickly patched without exception, but another exploit has appeared. For developers Infinity Ward and Raven Software, it must feel like playing whack-a-mole with influencers.
