Price-wise, it's even closer competition to our favorite gaming laptop, the Razer Blade 15; you lose an inch, but you get a wonderfully designed laptop that makes up for the slightly lackluster specs.

The Razer Blade 14 should be paired with the Nvidia RTX 3060, as featured in his review. While this may seem like a great improvement, the performance leap is not as great as it seems, given the impact thermal throttling has on the laptop's graphics card. Once the laptop begins to warm up, all is lost. Still, at this substantial discount, Razer's Ultrabook-Like gaming laptop is the best value available today.

The 2022 model comes with an AMD Ryzen 9 5900HX processor, 16GB of memory, and a 1TB SSD; the 165Hz 1440p display that comes with the RTX 3080 Razer Blade 14 will distort some of its performance compared to our 1080p test. will skew the results: at 1080p, the game can record 60-144 fps when played at essentially the highest quality settings. At a slightly higher resolution, you will probably have to tinker with quality settings and listen to fans trying to keep up with the increased demand.

But that's by no means a deal-breaker; the Razer Blade's 14-inch screen hits the sweet spot at 1440p. The screen is small enough that the pixel density appears sharp, with no impact on the performance of a 4K screen. It also certainly helps maintain the 90-minute battery life, which isn't particularly better than laptops with similar features, but it's not terrible either.

The Razer Blade 14 gives you both the ability to play a variety of games and a laptop that reflects the sleek aesthetic advantages of a Macbook, especially at this price. This is something that is rarely available in gaming laptops, and this product category is inundated with fragmented plastic designs. At MSRP, you'll pay a premium for the beauty, but now you can get it at a price commensurate with the actual hardware.

Black Friday gaming laptop deals (open in new tab) don't often start this strong; the Razer Blade 14 only temporarily went this low as an Amazon Lightning Deal in mid-October. Otherwise, it has consistently hovered above $2,000. At this price, it was already one of the best gaming laptops, but at this price it has effectively moved into the number one spot.

And don't worry, Blighty residents. We have our own Razer Blade 14 deal, and I personally am happier with this version of the machine. It's the cheapest on Amazon right now and has an RTX 3070 GPU instead of the RTX 3080.

Now, you might say you prefer a more powerful graphics chip, but the throttling and noise of the RTX 3080 can be a bit off-putting; the RTX 3070 is almost the sweet spot for this little machine.

And it's a great package with a great CPU and an excellent high-resolution screen.
