Even before the $30 discount on Black Friday, my heart had been set on this Lord of the Rings gaming keyboard.

Right now, Drop is offering a great deal on gaming keyboards. (This is due to Drop's own promotion in honor of Black Friday: opens in a new tab). Whoa. This is truly Black Friday.

I was keeping an eye out for Black Friday gaming keyboard and mouse deals (opens in new tab), and lo and behold, in my peripheral vision (get it?) ), a keyboard that I've been eyeing since its release popped up in my peripheral vision (get it?). At last, a Drop x LOTR keyboard, at a nice discounted price, and all in a form we could enjoy.

The ornate pale green elf keyboard is $169 (opens in new tab) and the carved star-spangled dwarf keyboard is $169 (opens in new tab), both reduced from the original $199. These are printed with what Drop calls "training legends," actual Latin characters along with Tengwar legends and sindarin phrases or Kaas legends and kuzdul phrases, respectively.

If you want to delve deeper into the lore, you can get a hardcore MT3 keycap set with Tengwar (open in new tab) or Cirth (open in new tab) lettering. [I have to admit, the moment I learned of the existence of this keyboard, I called the Lord of the Rings fans (opens in new tab) to the front of the line, because Drop is not only a great place for keyboard joy, but also a great place to get quality gaming accessories at a deceptively economical price! Because it's one of the few websites (Amazon, we're looking at you) where you can get quality gaming accessories at deceptively economical prices. It comes with Holy Panda X keyswitches, which are not hot-swappable, but at least they won't break the moment you get into a heated gaming session. No matter how long this keyboard lasts, I would share it with this keyboard for the rest of my life.

You're welcome.

To be clear, the LOTR keyboard does not have RGB lighting effects, only white backlighting. If you are an RGB enthusiast or are looking for a different keyswitch, the Drop CTRL is available now for $159 (opens in new tab).

In addition to full RGB, including rings on the edges, it comes with hot-swappable Halo Clear or Blue Tactile switches, Kaihua Speed Silverline switches, or Cherry MX Brown Tactile switches. Available in both black and "space" gray, you could probably screw up a Star Wars setup.

A great board (with no nerdy relevance other than being a badass enthusiast board) is the wireless Keydous NJ80 for $159 (opens in new tab). It also comes with hot-swappable switches and Artifact Bloom keycaps. The top is a gentle baby blue gradient and is absolutely gorgeous. It also has a volume dial.
