Disney's Dreamlight Valley is getting its next update, and as part of the Toy Story 27th anniversary celebration on November 22, Gameloft announced that Woody and Buzz will join our valley in an update coming in December.

This is the second major update for the game, following the introduction of Scar from The Lion King (opens in new tab) in October. Gameloft has not revealed much about what to expect from this update, but there are a few things we already know. The Toy Story realms - each a movie-themed mini-instance - will appear in Bonnie's room, and given that Dreamlight Valley's Twitter tells us to "get ready to shrink," it seems likely that everyone will be toy-sized in the next adventure.

The introduction of two new characters means that if Woody and Buzz are convinced to move in, there should be two new homes in our valley. What these homes will look like is not yet known, but the Discord server speculates that an RV or merry-go-round may be involved somewhere. Like the other Dreamlight Valley characters, Woody and Buzz should have their own friendship quests.

The update will introduce a new Star Pass, Dreamlight Valley's diet version of the Battle Pass (opens in new tab). Given that the last update was themed around Halloween merchandise, the next update may add seasonal items for decorating the village for the holiday season. The game's Trello board (opens in a new tab) lists a number of bug fixes along with the update.

The change I am most excited about is one that clarifies the item limits for decorating outdoors. Right now, the item limit is implied to be 600 items, but that is only the limit for unique items. The actual total is much higher, but that is also not visible. Given that the hidden limit also includes furniture and spawnable items needed for crafting and quests, more transparency would be nice.

The Toy Story update and Starpath will come out on December 6.
