Turn "Hitman 3" into a mystery game with a mod that gives you four suspects and only one correct target.

My favorite level in Hitman 3 is Dartmoor. Maybe it's because I'm British so I'm biased to see some home ground on the board, but it's actually because it's the murder mystery level of the game. I love murder mysteries. I love uncovering the secrets behind the motives of each and every person in the room before I get to the killer in a long Agatha Christie-style monologue. I thought that element of mystery worked very well in "Hitman 3," and now a mod is available to further that impression.

NexusMods' Minilancer (opens in new tab) mod combines detective work and assassination. The purpose of this mod is to provide four different NPCs, each of which could be the target you were sent to kill. Diana is probably on vacation or something. Can't staff these days?

In other words, Agent 47 has to roam the map looking for clues to narrow down his options. No one ever accidentally did that in Hitman, did they?

"Minilancer is a plugin for Hitman 3 that randomly generates multiple suspects, but only one of them is the target. All items found in a level are saved and carried over to the next level, but be aware that you will lose items if you fail a mission."

Currently, five maps are linked to this mod (Dubai, Dartmoor, Berlin, Chongqing, and Mendoza). Frankly, this seems like something the Hitman games should include in future editions. Or maybe something similar will come out with IO Interactive's James Bond game (open in new tab).
