Early Access game "Last Leviathan" is about to be delisted.

GOG.com (opens in new tab) has announced that The Last Leviathan, a fantasy shipbuilding game often summarized as "Besiege but with boats," will no longer be available." At the publisher's request, The Last Leviathan will be removed from the catalog on Thursday, November 24 at 4 p.m. UTC. For those of you who purchased this title prior to the delisting, it will remain in the GOG Library."

The Last Leviathan was released in 2016 and played at the time by early access expert Chris Livingston. He enjoyed building and sinking boats, although he noted that it felt rougher than Besiege's first release. He said, "The physics on the cannons are great and the combat is exciting and entertaining.

Developer Super Punk Games updated The Last Leviathan over the next few years, adding flying blocks and other features to allow players to build skyships, but the last update was three years ago, in November 2019. Their website (opens in new tab) is currently offline.

It's a shame that an Early Access game can't cross the finish line, providing fodder for cynics who see Early Access as a scam and ignore the success it has made possible over the years. The Last Leviathan is on Steam (open in new tab) open) as well as GOG, but it will probably be delisted there as well.
