Finally: a deal on a 32-inch, 4K, 144Hz, Black Friday gaming monitor under $500

32", 4K, IPS, 144Hz, 1ms gaming panel is the preferred choice for the discerning gaming enthusiast. Let's discuss. If you agree, the obvious catch is always cost. You need big money for this type of monitor. Or at least it does. Thanks to Black Friday, the GIGABYTE M32U meets all of these requirements for under $500. But this is not cheap. But if you break this down over 3-4 years, it's not a lot to pay for a truly premium gaming experience. Once you game in 4K, you will not want to go back to 1440p. What's more, the full benefits of 4K can definitely only be enjoyed at larger screen sizes; a 27-inch 4K panel is a slightly more dubious proposition.

Regardless, the GIGABYTE M32U meets all the key specs one would expect from a premium gaming panel: IPS technology, 144Hz refresh, and 1ms response. However, the panel also has some very welcome additional features.

First, it has both DisplayPort 1.4 and HDMI 2.1, allowing for full high refresh 4K on both interfaces. This is especially useful when you want to tag-team your PC with your gaming console. The GIGABYTE M32U also features a built-in KVM switch, making it easier to use multiple devices.

An additional highlight is DisplayHDR 400 certification. This is not a true HDR monitor. However, HDR certification means that it can at least display HDR color correctly. It also guarantees a minimum brightness of 400 nits, which is reassuring.

It is also worth remembering that the advent of upscaling technologies such as Nvidia's DLSS and AMD's FSR means that 4K is much more realistic in terms of frame rates than before. In short, 4K is pretty much the ultimate gaming experience, and that will not change for years to come. And now 4K is affordable. Hooray.
