Give your desktop the finishing touch with our Black Friday sale on useful desk accessories.

Black Friday sales season is here, but that doesn't mean you have to make a big dent in your wallet to get a bargain. Nevertheless, whether you're short on cash and looking for a stocking stuffer or just a little something to spruce up your gaming area, here's a roundup of cheap and useful items that you may not have realized you needed at your desk.

None of them have G-Sync or 32GB of RAM, nor do they improve your FPS when gaming at 1440p. However, they do save space, cool, and make your desk space look a little better.

First up is a USB desk fan. They can't cool an entire room, nor can they keep the heat out during a summer heatwave. Sometimes you don't want to bother bringing out a full-size fan if your office is just steaming hot for an hour or so a day. Both of these desk fans cost less than $10, won't break the bank, and both are small enough that you can store them in a drawer when not in use during the colder months.

If you want to tidy up your desk but keep things within reach, consider a desk organizer. I use one very similar to the bamboo drawer above, and it comes in handy for storing USB drives, pens, and screws that I'm sure came out of my PC but can't figure out where they came from and am afraid to throw away. Let's just say I didn't realize how much I would be using this organizer until I had it.

Of course, if you don't want to devote desk space to something like this, you can double up on the monitor stand and desk organizer combo. Similar to the stand-alone option, it can be used to store small items and components that clutter up your desk and organize the height of your monitor.

There was a time when I didn't use a mouse mat at all, relying instead on the precision of my mouse and the surface of my desk; like all things PC-related, mouse mats have come a long way in recent years. The principle remains the same, but why limit yourself to a small rectangle when you can cover a significant portion of your desk with a surface suitable for a mouse?"

That's exactly right.

Both of the mouse mats listed here currently cost less than $15, cover the desk properly, have a non-slip backing, and a smooth surface that makes even the most extravagant mouse movements feel weightless.

Finally, there are also some basic stands for gaming headsets. There are several types, including one that attaches to the bottom of the desk. You may want to start with something less permanent to see if you can really stop the habit of hanging your headset over the edge of your monitor.
