This 32-inch ultra-wide-angle Samsung gaming monitor is the cheapest it's ever been!

Choosing a gaming monitor is difficult. You can spend days weighing the variables and considering all the trade-offs. But in the end, you have to make a decision: do you want to put the giant curved Samsung Odyssey G5 ($400 on sale (open in new tab)) on your desk and play Forza or not?

If so, it's not a terrible choice: you can buy a higher-quality display for less, such as a 27-inch Dell monitor for $269.99 (opens in new tab). But you'll be sacrificing the size, curvature, and ultra-wide angle of this 34-inch ultrawide Samsung. Decisions, decisions.

Personally, I'd have to go with the Dell because I play competitive shooters and prefer a screen that doesn't extend so far to the periphery. However, when I play "Starfield" next year, I may want to take the time to enjoy the larger spectacle.

The Samsung Odyssey G5 deal is also available from Samsung's site (opens in new tab), which lists the correct specs. (For some reason the Amazon page says it is an IPS panel, but it is a VA panel.)

This year's bargain season has turned out to be a pretty good time to buy a monitor. No, more accurately, it looks like the last few years have been a bad time to buy a monitor; Amazon was going to sell this Samsung Odyssey for $630 back in January, so waiting until now to go monitor shopping was the right choice. We've gathered more deals like these on our Cyber Monday gaming monitor deals page.
