"There's too much TV!" is a common saying these days, as streaming services abound, making it impossible to enjoy the best of the best on the small screen. But is it possible to have too many games? Maybe so, when you have to spend hours downloading hundreds of gigabytes of game files just to see if you're hooked.

That argument goes out the window when you have instant access to over 300 games for everyone in the gaming world to enjoy. That is the glorious promise of Xbox Cloud Gaming, part of the Microsoft Game Pass Ultimate subscription.

Sadly, the perk costs $14.99 per month, which may seem like a lot to spend on a gaming sub that you don't know how much you'll use. However, you can get a new subscription for $1 for the first month, and if you don't want to continue after the first 30 days, you can cancel the recurring subscription and never pay more than the first $1.

Nevertheless, in addition to cloud gaming, Game Pass Ultimate also offers Xbox and PC Game Pass, as well as EA Play. This means that even if a game is not playable on Xbox's cloud servers, there are thousands of games that can be downloaded to your device and enjoyed if you continue to pay Microsoft sub-money.

But what makes Ultimate Game Pass ultimate is the Xbox cloud gaming feature. This means you can log on from almost any device, including Steam decks, and play the latest Xbox games in minutes. Streaming is good, but resolution is limited to 1080p at best.

Personally, I think GeForce Now has better actual streaming quality (open in new tab), but to play games on Nvidia's service, you have to actually own the game; on Game Pass, everything you see is fair game.
