Better to give than to receive? Nvidia's Black Friday/Cyber Monday GeForce Now deal offers a free $20 gift card for every $50 gift card purchased. That means you can give someone 6 months of GeForce Now for Priority or 3 months of RTX 3080 membership and get 2 months or 1 month back for yourself. [Of course, you can also give $20 and get 3 months of virtual RTX 3080 games, or keep it all to yourself. Call it a gift for the gamer within.

Nvidia's October promotion offered a six-month Priority membership for $30 (opens in new tab). Looking at this Cyber Monday price purely in terms of the Priority membership, if you have both gift cards for yourself, you get 8 months for $50.

GeForce Now is my absolute favorite streaming service, and with the Priority tier you can enjoy 1080p RTX-based games at 60Hz on virtually any Internet-connected device, with priority access to the servers (free version ), so you don't have to wait in line.

However, the RTX 3080 tier allows for higher levels of game fidelity, including ray tracing, dedicated RTX 3080 servers, 4K HDR and the ability to play at up to 120Hz. We'll see if your device can accomplish such feats.

Here's one of the reasons the Nvidia Shield set-top tube is such a great little thing. Not only is it the best Android TV box you can buy, it is designed to work with GeForce Now and dominate 4K HDR gaming. We like it so much that we have two of them and even call it the "ultimate 4K HDR gaming console". (Open in new tab)

However, GeForce Now has a caveat, and it's mainly around the library: while Xbox Cloud Gaming is pure Xbox, this is a PC-based service. This means that instead of playing Xbox games on Xbox-based hardware, you will be playing them on a PC streamed using your Steam or Epic account. It also means that you can start or continue a cloud save with GeForce Now and continue it later on your gaming PC. However, this means that you already have a decent library of games on Steam or Epic. If you own games on one of these platforms, there is a good chance you will find GeForce Now.

However, there is also a chance that you may not find it. Not all Steam and Epic games are supported, but enough of them are that you should have no trouble finding something to play.
