There are four RTX 3070 Ti gaming laptops currently available for under $1,450.

Numerous Black Friday gaming laptop deals (open in new tab) passed my desk, but these four Gigabyte gaming laptops deserve the most attention. All four of these laptops have an Nvidia GeForce RTX 3070 Ti GPU and an Intel Core i7 12700H CPU, but none of them cost more than $1,500. [Let me explain why: you don't see many RTX 3060 laptops selling for around $1,400, but they used to be much more common; getting a much more powerful mobile GPU, the RTX 3070 Ti, for the same price is a sign of the times: GPU prices are coming down, and newer laptop GPUs will soon be available; on January 3, Nvidia may announce its next generation of mobile GPUs, which will be the RTX 3070 Ti, the most powerful mobile GPU yet. All of this means that you can buy up surplus RTX 30-series laptops for a lot less than before.

These four Gigabyte laptops are all good examples of how many laptops you can get for the money now.

Two of these laptops, the Aero models, are more creator-oriented and less expensive than the other two. The Aorus laptop, on the other hand, is built with gaming in mind; all four models are discounted by over $900, so it's just a matter of choosing which one suits you best. [Aero 5 XE4 and Aero 16 XE5.

The XE4 asks $1,250 (open in new tab) for your hard earned money. In return, you get a RTX 3070 Ti and Core i7 12700H in a slender chassis, along with a 4K AMOLED 15-inch display, 16GB of DDR4 RAM, and a generous 1TB SSD.

The downside is that the XE4's 4K display has a maximum of 60Hz, not exactly ideal for gaming. Instead, the extra area leans toward use with creative applications such as Adobe After Effects. On the flip side, the RTX 3070 Ti is powerful but does not break the 60Hz limit in demanding games, allowing the GPU to be fully utilized.

The Aero chassis is also really beautiful. I have had quite a bit of hands-on experience with previous Aero models, primarily for video editing work, and can attest that they are compact and sturdy for the price. I don't like lugging around huge gaming laptops, so the thinner Aero's footprint worked beautifully for me. That said, there is no escaping how heavy these laptops are versus the thinner and smaller 2-in-1s.

Now, before you make up your mind on this laptop, I'll throw a second Aero into the mix, the $1,299 (opens in new tab) XE5. the XE5 comes with 16GB of new DDR5 RAM, a silver finish, and a slightly larger 16-inch 4K screen The XE5 is the first of its kind in the market. These upgrades are only $49 more than the XE4, so they are worth considering.

In terms of changes, the XE5 is slightly wider and deeper than the XE4, but it is still a much more refined machine. The XE5 also comes with the Aero Hub, which makes it easy to connect many devices.

When it comes to these two Aero machines, I'm drawn to the slightly pricier XE5 model, but don't need to decide just yet until I've seen the two Aorus gaming laptops.

There are two Aorus gaming laptops of considerably different sizes, the Aorus 15 XE4 and the Aorus 17 XE5, but they are priced about the same: $1,430 for the XE4 (open in new tab) and $1,449 for the XE5 (open in new tab).

The Aorus 15 XE4 is a more compact machine, with a much slimmer chassis for a gaming laptop of its kind. While thinner devices can be found, this is certainly not a huge monster. The device comes with 16GB of DDR4 memory and, importantly, a 1440p screen with a 165Hz refresh rate. This is the sweet spot for PC gaming. [The larger Aorus 17 XE5, on the other hand, has 16GB of DDR5 RAM and a 1080p, 360Hz screen. So I think the appeal of this laptop is a bit more niche and is more of a competitive gaming option than anything else.

So the one to get this Black Friday is probably the Aorus 15 for gaming. It will be updated regularly, but at any rate, there should be something in here for the next week.
