RTX 3080 finally dropped to MSRP for the first time since its launch.

Black Friday Graphics Card Deals (opens in new tab). What's really interesting is that it's not just AMD cards, but the Nvidia RTX 3080 (opens in new tab) is at Newegg (opens in new tab) at an MSRP of $699.99. The last time we saw the RTX 3080 at its original launch price... Yes, since launch day.

Since Amazon Prime Day, and since Amazon Prime Day 2 and Jeff's October Redux, GPUs have been appearing at genuinely impressive discounts. This is because the cryptocurrency mining market has bottomed out, ethereum no longer requires graphics card polishing to support its transactions, it has moved to proof-of-stake, and the supply chain has begun to recover.

But for the most part, it was AMD GPUs that saw the biggest price cuts. Or at least that was the most relevant price cut: the RTX 3090 Ti (opens in new tab) card was only down to the price we already knew the RTX 4090 (opens in new tab) would be, which was quite unattractive, but to be fair the price saw a drop. [But now the Nvidia cards are seeing real discounts. [There is a caveat to this Maxsun RTX 3080, however, and that is the fact that it is being sold as a pre-order item, not as a fully stocked Newegg GPU. The "release date" on the listing page is December 1, 2022, but if you've already waited this long for the Ampere silicon to be available at MSRP, you don't have long to wait.

But if that is a deal-breaker for you, there is also the Yeston RTX 3080, which looks pretty good in stock. This card costs $70 more than the MSRP at launch, but it looks kind of pretty.
