Warzone 2 locks players out and asks them to buy Modern Warfare 2.

Warzone 2 locks players out and asks them to buy Modern Warfare 2.

Call of Duty: Warzone 2 has a bug that will lock you out of free play if you do not purchase Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II. This is somewhat confusing: Warzone 2 and Modern Warfare 2 share the same client launcher, but are separate products, and players should be able to download and play Warzone 2 without purchasing Modern Warfare 2.

The problem seems to be widespread, and in most cases seems to occur when a player has played a few matches and then tries to start another match from the menu. When this happens, a pop-up window appears saying, "When you purchase Modern Warfare 2, you have access to everything," and the game does not start. This seems to occur on multiple playlists, and restarting the game does not resolve the issue.

"I have played probably 6 Warzone 2.0 games since yesterday without any problems (I finished the last game a few minutes ago)," writes Unf0cused." When I try to play now, when I click on Battle Royale Solos, I get a window that says "Buy Modern Warfare II to access everything" (I tried other BR variations with the same result)."

Players were able to find ways around certain Warzone 2 glitches, such as social feeds not working (now fixed), but this seems to be a hard block at the moment. We are certain that this is unintentional, as it has already locked out players who have purchased Modern Warfare 2.

There is no mention of this bug on the Warzone 2 torero board, but the "Play Again" button is temporarily disabled, which may have something to do with it.Warzone 2 released a patch to fix a bug that prevents players from forming parties just recently, and it appears that this fix may have had unintended consequences.
