At only $759, the RTX 3060 rig is an unbeatable price for a Black Friday gaming PC!

We know that Black Friday is next week, but the Black Friday PC gaming deals (opens in new tab) don't seem to get that memo. One of the best deals out there right now is the ROG Strix G10 gaming desktop for $759 at Newegg (opens in new tab). That's almost half off the regular price of $1,499! Not a bad price for a PC named after a baby-eating bird demon (opens in new tab). I'm serious.

A Ryzen 7 5800X CPU and RTX 3060 GPU combo powers this bird, along with 16GB of DDR4 RAM, and solid 1080p performance on medium to high settings, unless you cheat a few extra FPS from your favorite games with something like DLSS

Ryzen

The Ryzen 7 5800X (open in new tab) is an overclockable CPU suitable for productivity applications and offers decent gaming performance. However, at 1440p, games can be played at 1440p. However, 1440p can be quite hit-or-miss depending on the game, so if you primarily play competitive shooters like "Call of Duty Warzone 2.0" (open in new tab) or "Valorant," you should be fine. By okay, I mean that the game works well, not that it makes the game better. Sorry!

Considering that the Ryzen 7 5800X and RTX 3060 cost about $600 separately, getting an entire gaming PC for an extra $160 is an absolute steal. In addition, Newegg is giving away Warhammer 40,000: Darktide (opens in new tab), which the entire PC Gamer staff is looking forward to, for free with every purchase.

The only downside is storage. While a 512GB SSD as a boot drive would be appreciated, I think it's past time to load games from a hard drive, even if it's 1TB. If you can pack your favorite games onto an SSD, it's not a deal-breaker, but you'll save $740 (which is welcome, by the way), so keep an eye out for Black Friday SSD sales (open in a new tab) throughout the week and find a 1TB or 2TB drive that fits your budget.
